Senyo Kwasi Hosi

Senyo Hosi is a Ghanaian economist, energy sector expert and civil society advocate who serves as convenor of the One Ghana Movement and is best known as the founding chief executive of the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors. Combining industry leadership with public advocacy, he has become a respected voice on economic policy, governance and accountability in Ghana.

Hosi holds an MBA in finance and a master's degree in economic policy management from the University of Ghana, academic credentials that underpinned his career at the intersection of business, energy and public policy. His analytical grounding in economics shaped his approach both to running an influential industry body and to campaigning for reforms in national governance.

As founding CEO of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Hosi led the organisation for a decade before stepping down in July 2022. Under his stewardship the Chamber became recognised as one of the leading centres for industry-based research and policy advocacy in Ghana's downstream petroleum sector. He is credited with being a catalyst for major reforms, including the deregulation of petroleum prices, a policy reported to have saved the Ghanaian economy hundreds of millions of dollars each year in unbudgeted subsidies, and the low-sulphur fuel standard that introduced cleaner petroleum products to the market.

His contributions to the energy industry earned him significant recognition. He was named Oil and Gas Personality of the Year in the downstream category in 2016 by an industry publication, and received an Africa Impact CEO award from the Africa Leadership Magazine in 2017. These honours reflected his influence in shaping policy and practice within one of Ghana's most strategically important economic sectors, and his reputation as a reform-minded industry leader.

Beyond his energy sector work, Hosi has channelled his energies into civil society through the One Ghana Movement, a platform he convenes to advocate good governance, accountability and citizen engagement in national affairs. In that role he has spoken out on issues of public finance, corruption and economic management, positioning himself as an independent commentator willing to challenge government and hold institutions to account. He has also served in advisory capacities on energy policy. Blending the perspectives of an economist, an industry builder and a civic advocate, Senyo Hosi continues to contribute to public debate on how Ghana can be better governed and its resources more effectively managed.
