Vudumane

Vudumane, born Korletey Mimpey and raised in Accra by a Ghanaian father and a Nigerian mother, is a singer, rapper and songwriter now based in Atlanta.

Early career

He was writing and recording over foreign beats by 11 and performing on small stages with Paa Dogo, Ex-Doe and Tic Tac. Recording as Nyankonton, he worked with Screwface, Tinny, Okra Tom Dawidi and Castro, and in 2005 had his first hit, Odowuo, with Kwabena Kwabena.

Barber and comeback

After winning a US diversity visa he left music to cut hair in Atlanta, where his shop served clients including Davido, Wizkid, Teni and Omar Sterling. He returned in 2019 as Vudumane with Shoe Size and a remix with Zlatan. In August 2022 Oh No reached number one on TurnTable's Top Alternative Songs chart, and Somebody with Davido topped Apple Music in Nigeria.
