Andy Agyemang, performing as Ypee, was rapping in Kumasi well before the Asakaa wave gave the city's hip-hop scene its global spotlight. Born on 18 June 1996, he built a smooth, confident delivery over Afrobeats and hip-hop production that distinguished him as a natural songwriter from an early age. His collaboration with Yaw Tog on Ekorso connected him to the younger Kumerica generation and brought his work to a broader audience. Ypee represents the thread between Kumasi's established hip-hop tradition and the drill wave that followed, equally at home in both worlds.
