Roots
Akwasi Boadi was born on 18 November 1962 at Ayirebi in the Eastern Region, the youngest of 11 children, ten of whom have died. He finished middle school at Akyem Ayirebi in 1979 but did not pass the leaving exam.
Concert party to Kumawood
At 18 he followed Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo's Kristo Asafo concert-party band to Accra after it performed in his town, and stayed with it for years, including on the Key Soap Concert Party "Who Is Who" competition, alongside Agya Koo and Mercy Asiedu. He moved into Kumawood films in 2008 and has appeared in more than 100. Since 2018 he has hosted The Real News on UTV. He is a keen football fan.
