About Alex Tettey-Enyo
Alex Tettey-Enyo is an educationist who represented Ada in the Greater Accra Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2005 to 2013 and was Minister for Education from 2009 to 2011. He was born at Akuse on 6 June 1940.
A life in education
He trained as a teacher at Wesley College, Kumasi, studied at KNUST and graduated in education from the University College of Cape Coast in 1965. He taught at Ghanata Secondary School, became headmaster of Ada Secondary School from 1982 to 1990 and then rose through the Ghana Education Service: district director for Dangme East, director of secondary education, Deputy Director-General from 1996 and Acting Director-General from 2001.
Politics
He won Ada in 2004 and 2008. President Mills appointed him Minister for Education in 2009, and he left the post in the reshuffle of January 2011. He is married with five children. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah of the NDC has held Ada since 2013.
