About Alexander Kodwo Kom Abban
Dr Alexander Kodwo Kom Abban is a medical doctor and lawyer who represented Gomoa West in the Central Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2021. He was born on 6 December 1973 and comes from Gomoa Dawurampong.
Abban trained in human biology and medicine at KNUST, took a master's in public health in Hamburg and an LLM in banking and financial law at Boston University. He worked as a house officer and medical officer in the Ghana Health Service, lectured at GIMPA and the Ghana School of Law, and was legal adviser at the Ghana Stock Exchange. A Catholic, he and his wife, Anastasia Antoinette Abban, have four children. Richard Gyan-Mensah of the NDC holds the seat today.
