Francis Kojo Arthur

Francis Kojo Arthur is an animal scientist and teacher who represented Gomoa West in the Central Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for two terms, from 2009 to 2017. He was born at Gomoa Abasa No. 2 on 22 November 1954.

Arthur earned a master's degree in animal breeding at KNUST in 2000 and taught at Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi. He succeeded Joe Kingsley Hackman as MP in 2009 and was re-elected in 2012 with 57 percent of the vote, but lost the 2016 NDC primary to Samuel Fletcher. He is a Catholic, married with ten children. Richard Gyan-Mensah of the NDC holds Gomoa West today.
