Alexander Asum-Ahensah

Alexander Asum-Ahensah is an educationist who represented Jaman North in the Bono Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for two terms, from 2005 to 2013, and was Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture under President Mills. He was born on 23 July 1953 and comes from Goka.

He trained at the Accra Technical Training Centre, earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Cape Coast and an executive master's from GIMPA, and was assistant director in charge of supervision for the Ghana Education Service in Jaman North. He won the newly created Jaman North seat in 2004 and held it in 2008 against Siaka Stevens of the NPP, who took it in 2012. He worships with the Church of Pentecost and is married with six children. Frederick Yaw Ahenkwah of the NDC holds Jaman North today.
