Francis Gota

Francis Gota is a Ghanaian insurance executive and the chief executive of aYo Ghana, the MTN-backed microinsurance company. He also oversees the aYo group's business development for Uganda and Zambia, a pan-African role he took on in 2022.

Career

Gota has more than twelve years of experience in insurance, with a track record in operations, business development and strategy.

aYo Ghana

aYo offers affordable, easy-to-access microinsurance delivered through mobile phones, aimed largely at low and middle-income customers who have traditionally been left out of insurance. Under his leadership the company has insured more than 8.5 million lives, covering up to a quarter of Ghana's population, and has paid out more than GH₵35 million in claims.

Recognition

Gota has been named InsurTech CEO of the Year and Most Transformational Insurance CEO of the Year. At the 7th National Communications and Technology Awards, aYo Ghana and its chief executive won four major honours, and the company has collected several prizes at the Ghana Finance Focus Awards. He speaks regularly on customer experience and financial inclusion, including at CXP Ghana.
