About Issifu Seidu
Issifu Seidu, known locally as Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu, is a National Democratic Congress (NDC) politician who represented Nalerigu-Gambaga in the North East Region from 2021 to 2025. He was born on 24 July 1969 and comes from Nalerigu, seat of the Nayiri, the king of Mamprugu.
He holds an MBA in management, earned in 2015. His 2020 victory was one of the upsets of that election in the north: he defeated Hajia Alima Mahama, the sitting Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, in an election in which every sitting MP in the North East Region lost. Nurideen Mumuni Muhammed won the seat back for the NPP in 2024.
