Jerry Ahmed Shaib

Jerry Ahmed Shaib is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician born on 9 August 1976 who serves as the Member of Parliament for the Weija-Gbawe constituency in the Greater Accra Region. A member of the New Patriotic Party representing one of Greater Accra's rapidly urbanising western suburbs, he holds law degrees from both Ghanaian and international institutions and has pursued graduate education at one of Canada's most prestigious universities, building a legal and governance formation that spans multiple academic traditions.

Education

Shaib's academic career crosses multiple institutions and countries. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cape Coast, providing his social science undergraduate foundation. He then pursued law at the University of Ghana, completing both an LLB and an LLM, qualifying him for admission to the Bar and giving him postgraduate legal research training. He was called to the Bar after completing the qualifying examination at the Ghana School of Law. His postgraduate management education came from multiple institutions: an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa in Canada, a degree from one of Canada's nationally significant law and business schools, and a further MBA from the University of Professional Studies in Accra. His MPhil from the University of Ghana adds a research dimension to his law and management qualifications. Political career

He has served as the Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, a constituency in the Ga South Municipal District of the Greater Accra Region, covering the communities along the Weija-Kasoa corridor west of Accra where rapid population growth, urban infrastructure challenges and the development pressures of Greater Accra's expanding western boundary define the primary constituency concerns. Weija-Gbawe's communities include significant numbers of lower-middle-income urban residents whose access to water, sanitation, roads and employment in Greater Accra's expanding economy is shaped by the development investment that constituency representation can secure.
