About John Agyabeng
John Agyabeng is a teacher and farmer who represented Agona East in the Central Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for two terms, from 2005 to 2013. He was born on 14 February 1965 and comes from Agona Duakwa.
He studied geography and education at the University of Cape Coast and governance at GIMPA, and taught at Nsaba Presbyterian School. Under President Kufuor he was District Chief Executive for Agona from 2001 to 2005. He won Agona East in 2004 with 57.6 percent and held it in 2008 by just 34 votes. Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr of the NDC took the seat in 2012 and holds it today. He has farmed since 1998 and was named best district farmer at the 2017 National Farmers' Day. He is married with five children.
