About Johnson Kwaku Adu
Johnson Kwaku Adu is a science teacher who represented Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for three terms, from 2013 to 2025. He was born at Akrokerri on 10 August 1969.
He holds a Bachelor of Education in science from the University of Education, Winneba, and taught science at Akrokerri College of Education. He was district coordinator of NADMO for Ahafo Ano South from 2002 to 2009 and presiding member of the district assembly from 2009 to 2011. He won the new Ahafo Ano South West seat in 2012 and held it in 2016 and 2020. In the Eighth Parliament he chaired the Youth, Sports and Culture Committee, and in 2021 he was sworn in as a member of the ECOWAS Parliament. In 2017 he was among four MPs the British High Commission accused of misusing diplomatic passports to take relatives to the UK. He worships with the Church of Pentecost. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah of the NPP holds the seat today.
