About Joseph Ampomah Bosompem
Joseph Ampomah Bosompem is an accountant and tax administrator who represented Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2009 to 2013. He was born at Akim Swedru on 29 June 1957.
He attended Swedru Secondary School and Ofori Panin Secondary School, qualified as a chartered certified accountant and earned an MBA from Manchester Business School in 2004. He worked at the University of Ghana, the Controller and Accountant-General's Department and the Ministry of Finance, and was a Deputy Commissioner of the VAT Service. He won Akim Swedru in 2008 with 63.6 percent of the vote but lost the 2012 NPP primary to Kennedy Osei Nyarko, who still holds the seat. He is a Presbyterian, married with six children.
