About Nelson Kyeremeh
Nelson Kyeremeh is a former teacher who represented Berekum East in the Bono Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2021 to 2025. He was born in Berekum on 27 March 1985, making him one of the younger members of the Eighth Parliament.
Classroom to boardroom
Kyeremeh trained as a teacher, earning a diploma in basic education in 2009 and a degree in management studies in 2012. He was an assistant headteacher in the Ghana Education Service before moving into the private sector as an administrator at Agyengoplus Transport and Logistics.
Beating the incumbent
In the 2020 primaries he defeated the sitting MP, Kwabena Twum-Nuamah, and then won the general election against the NDC's Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh with about 61 percent of the vote. As MP he supplied learning materials to around 41 public schools and sat on the Works and Housing Committee.
Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh returned in 2024 and won the seat for the NDC.
