About Oscar Liwaal
Oscar Liwaal is a teacher and former district chief executive who represented Yunyoo in the North East Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2021 to 2025. He was born on 1 May 1978 and comes from Jimbale.
Liwaal trained as a teacher and earned an education degree in 2013. After losing the Yunyoo race in 2016 to Naabu Joseph Bipoba, he was appointed District Chief Executive for Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo in 2017 and then became the first DCE of the new Yunyoo-Nasuan district. He beat Bipoba in the 2020 rematch with about 56 percent of the vote and became vice-chair of the Members Holding Offices of Profit Committee. Alhassan Sulemana of the National Democratic Congress won Yunyoo in 2024.
