Patrick Banor

Patrick Banor is a Ghanaian administrator and New Patriotic Party (NPP) politician who served one term as MP for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, from 2021 to 2025. He was born on 13 June 1975 at Kenyasi No. 2, one of the main towns in the constituency.

From business to the ballot

Before politics Banor managed Sarfpok Company Limited as general manager. He holds a degree in sociology and social work. His route to Parliament began with an internal contest: in the 2020 primaries he beat Evans Bobie Opoku for the NPP ticket in Asutifi North, then defeated the NDC's Ebenezer Kwaku Addo in the general election with just over half the vote.

Schools first

Much of his visible constituency work went into education. In 2020 he supplied mathematical sets to more than 1,300 candidates sitting the BECE, and in 2021 he donated around 400 desks to Ola Girls' Senior High School. In Parliament he sat on the Subsidiary Legislation Committee and the House Committee.

2024 rematch

Banor faced Addo again in December 2024. This time Addo won, returning Asutifi North to the NDC and ending Banor's time in the House after a single term.
