About Benhazin Joseph Dahah
Benhazin Joseph Dahah is a former teacher who represented Asutifi North in the Ahafo area for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for two terms, from 2013 to 2021. He was born on 8 February 1969 at Ntotroso.
From the classroom
Dahah studied integrated development studies at the University for Development Studies and taught in the Ghana Education Service before entering politics. He won Asutifi North in 2012 and held it in 2016 with about 55 percent of the vote.
The visa row
In April 2017 he was one of four MPs named in reports that the British High Commission had accused them of using diplomatic passports to help relatives travel to the United Kingdom. The reports said his UK visa was cancelled and he faced a ten-year ban. He is married with ten children. Patrick Banor succeeded him for the NPP in 2021, and Ebenezer Kwaku Addo of the NDC holds the seat today.
