About Paul Essien
Paul Essien is a mathematics teacher who represented Jomoro in the Western Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2021. He was born on 8 July 1975.
Essien attended Nsein Senior High School, took an HND at Takoradi Polytechnic and a degree in statistics at the University of Cape Coast. He taught maths at Annor Adjaye Senior High School from 2008 to 2016 and was district sports chairman. His 2016 win was in a three-way race against the NDC's Thomas Elleamo Yankey and the CPP's Samia Nkrumah, the former MP and daughter of Kwame Nkrumah, and he won with 39 percent. Dorcas Affo-Toffey of the NDC holds Jomoro today.
