About Paul Evans Aidoo
Paul Evans Aidoo is a teacher and National Democratic Congress (NDC) politician who served as Western Regional Minister and Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister under Presidents Mills and Mahama, and represented Sefwi-Wiawso from 2005 to 2017. He was born at Sefwi-Ewiase on 4 August 1958.
Aidoo trained at Enchi Teacher Training College, taught from 1981 to 1985, worked with the National Mobilisation Programme and was a District Chief Executive from 1997 to 2001. He won Sefwi-Wiawso in 2004 and 2008. President Mills appointed him Western Regional Minister in 2009; in March 2013 President Mahama moved him to Brong-Ahafo and returned him to the Western Region in March 2014. In July 2011 he drew criticism from human rights groups after calling for the arrest of gay people in the Western Region. Kofi Benteh Afful of the NDC holds Sefwi-Wiawso today.
