Richard Quashigah

Richard Quashigah is a journalist and communications strategist who represented Keta in the Volta Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2013 to 2021 and was the party's National Propaganda Secretary. He was born on 16 October 1968 and comes from Kedzi.

The NDC's messenger

Quashigah attended Ghana Secondary Technical School in Takoradi and took a master's in international journalism at Cardiff University in 2002. He sat on the NDC's National Publicity Committee from 1996, served as Greater Accra Regional Propaganda Secretary and convened the party's communications committee in 2007. In the 2008 campaign he ran the NDC's documentaries, TV advertising and media monitoring. In 2010 he was elected National Propaganda Secretary and proposed renaming the role National Communications Officer.

Parliament

As MP he sat on the Public Accounts and Communications committees, was deputy ranking member on Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises, and vice-chaired the Ghana-Korea Parliamentary Friendship Association. He is married with one child. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey of the NDC holds Keta today.
