About Robert Sarfo-Mensah
Robert Sarfo-Mensah is a tax officer and farmer who represented Asunafo North, in today's Ahafo Region, for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2005. He was born on 1 April 1970 and comes from Mampong in the Ashanti Region.
He graduated in English from the University of Ghana in 1996, took an executive master's at GIMPA and worked as an assistant revenue officer with the VAT Service. He won Asunafo North in 2004 and 2008 with just over half the vote each time. In 2017 President Akufo-Addo made him Director-General of the National Sports Authority; he was suspended in 2018 after a visa scandal involving Ghana's delegation to the Commonwealth Games in Australia, and he also featured in Anas Aremeyaw Anas's Number 12 football investigation. He worships with the Church of Pentecost and is married with four children. Mohammed Haruna of the NDC holds Asunafo North today.
