About Sagre Bambangi
Dr Sagre Bambangi is an agricultural economist who represented Walewale in the North East Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2013 to 2021 and served as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture in charge of crops. He was born on 2 May 1966 and comes from Wungu.
Bambangi attended Navrongo Secondary School and earned a PhD in agricultural economics at the University of Ghana in 2009. He lectured in economics at the University for Development Studies' Wa campus from 1997 to 2016. He won Walewale in 2012 and 2016, but lost the 2020 primary to Lariba Zuweira Abudu. He is married with six children. Dr Tia Kabiru Mahama holds the seat today.
