About Saani Iddi
Saani Iddi was a businessman who represented Wulensi in the Northern Region twice: for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 1997 to 2001, and as an independent from 2009 until his death in June 2012. He was born on 26 May 1956 and came from Wulensi.
He won Wulensi for the NPP in 1996, lost it in 2000 and then served as District Chief Executive under President Kufuor. He returned to Parliament in 2008 as an independent with 10,174 votes. He died at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on 5 June 2012 after an illness, months before the end of his term. He was married with seven children. Stanley Yaw Nandaya, also an independent, holds Wulensi today.
