About Samuel Nsowah-Djan
Samuel Nsowah-Djan is a headteacher turned mining businessman who represented Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2021. He was born on 26 June 1961 and comes from Denkyira Breman.
Nsowah-Djan studied sociology at the University of Ghana and was headteacher of Denkyira-Breman Anglican Basic School, later becoming chief executive of Nsowah Mining Company in Dunkwa-on-Offin. He defeated the sitting MP, Benjamin Kofi Ayeh, in the 2015 primary. As MP he built mechanised boreholes and supplied COVID-19 protective equipment to the district health directorate. He narrowly lost the seat in 2020 to the NDC's Daniel Ohene Darko. Rudolf Amoako-Gyampah won it back for the NPP in 2024.
