About Selorm Adadevoh

Selorm Adadevoh is a Ghanaian telecommunications and business executive best known for his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, a role he held from June 2018 to March 2024. His nearly six-year leadership drew recognition both within Ghana and across the continent, and his elevation to a group-level role in 2024 confirmed his standing as one of the most accomplished telecoms executives to emerge from the country. Adadevoh earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi before pursuing an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Strategic Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This combination of engineering discipline and business training shaped the analytical approach he brought to every organisation he led. Before joining MTN Ghana, he built an extensive career in mobile telecommunications across Africa and the Caribbean. He held senior roles at Millicom (Tigo) Ghana as Chief Commercial Officer, Head of Mobile Financial Services and Head of Product Innovation, before joining Digicel Group, where he served as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Global Director for Mobile Financial Services across multiple markets. At MTN Ghana, his tenure coincided with a period of rapid digital growth. He made the expansion of the MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) platform a strategic priority, transforming it into a cornerstone of financial inclusion across Ghana and enabling millions of unbanked Ghanaians to access payment, savings and investment services. Under his leadership, MTN Ghana maintained a market share exceeding 55 percent and posted consistent growth across voice, data and MoMo segments. He also championed gender equity in mobile financial services, serving on the board of Women's World Banking Ghana and representing MTN at international forums including MWC Barcelona. In 2020, he was named Marketing Man of the Year at the 32nd Annual National Marketing Performance Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana. In December 2023, MTN Group announced his appointment as Group Chief Commercial, Strategy and Transformation Officer, a new position at the continental holding company level. He formally transitioned into the group role in April 2024, with Stephen Blewett succeeding him as CEO of MTN Ghana. The promotion placed him among a small group of Ghanaian executives who have risen to the most senior levels of a pan-African blue-chip corporation.
