Suleman Adamu Sanid

Suleman Adamu Sanid is a former Volta River Authority manager who represented Ahafo Ano North in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2017 to 2025. Born on 13 November 1970, he traces his roots to Worikambo in the Upper East Region, making him one of the Ashanti Region MPs whose family story began in the north.

A history graduate at the VRA

Sanid studied history at the University of Ghana and later earned an MBA in marketing from Central University. He spent his professional years at the Volta River Authority, where he was acting manager for organisational development and management systems.

Two terms in a marginal seat

Ahafo Ano North was never a runaway seat for him. He won it in 2016 with just over half the vote, and held it in 2020 against the NDC's Kwasi Adusei by a similar margin. In Parliament he was vice-chair of the Local Government and Rural Development Committee.

He is married to Yorm Abra Sanid and they have three children. The seat stayed with the NPP in 2024, passing to Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh.
