About Sulemana Alijata
Sulemana Alijata is a social worker who represented Sissala East in the Upper West Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2013 to 2017, after serving as District Chief Executive for Sissala West. She was born in Tumu on 25 August 1975.
She studied community development at the Rural Development College and was DCE for Sissala West from 2008 to 2013. As MP she extended electricity to communities, used her share of the Common Fund to build and equip CHPS compounds, and pledged 20 percent of her salary to women with breast cancer, sponsoring 23 operations. She volunteers with the NGO People Action to Win Life All-round. Mohammed Issah Bataglia of the NDC holds Sissala East today.
