About Rafatu Alhassan Dubie Halutie
Rafatu Alhassan Dubie Halutie is a nurse who represented Sissala East in the Upper West Region for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2009 to 2013. She was born at Kong on 22 November 1947 and comes from Tumu.
She trained at the Bolgatanga Nursing Training School and the Koforidua Midwifery Training School, and spent her career at Tumu Hospital, rising to principal medical assistant. She entered local politics as an assembly member in 1994 and was presiding member of the Sissala District Assembly from 2000 to 2001. After standing unsuccessfully in 2004, she became the NDC's deputy women's organiser for the Upper West Region and won Sissala East in 2008. She is married with five children. Mohammed Issah Bataglia of the NDC holds Sissala East today.
