Teephlow

Teephlow, born Lukeman Ekow Baidoo on 20 June 1991 in Kotokuraba, Cape Coast, is a hip hop artiste who came to national attention on a TV rap competition. His State of the Art won Record of the Year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Early life

He is the youngest of six children of Mohammed Baidoo, an educationist, and Khadija Baidoo, a businesswoman. He attended Ekumfi T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School and earned a BSc in quantity surveying and construction economics at KNUST, where he built his first fan base rapping on campus.

Career

He was first runner-up in the maiden edition of The Next Big Thing in GH Hip Hop in 2012, and Hammer of The Last Two signed him. Hammer put him on Kwaw Kese's Swedru Agona, and his first single, The Warning featuring Sarkodie, came out in 2014. He left The Last Two in December 2016 and later set up TeePhlow Music and Revolve Records.

The Phlowducation EP (2017) had production from SnowBeatz and Possigee and guests including Reggie Rockstone, Edem, Epixode, Flowking Stone and Worlasi. Its eighth track, State of the Art, gave him his VGMA win.
