About Dickson Adomako Kissi
Dr Dickson Adomako Kissi is a medical doctor and business adviser who represented Anyaa-Sowutuom in the Greater Accra Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2021 to 2025. He was born on 23 August 1981 into a medical family.
A doctor's son
His father, Dr Emmanuel Abu Kissi, is a physician and his mother, Elizabeth Bamfo Kissi, a midwife. The family comes from Kwahu Mpraeso. He attended St Peter's Boys Secondary School at Kwahu Nkwatia, studied economics at Brigham Young University in the United States, and worked as a product analyst at Covidien in Connecticut before returning home to qualify as a doctor at the University of Ghana Medical School in 2013. He became business development adviser at Deseret Hospital in Accra.
Professionals for the NPP
He founded Professionals for Political Action, a group of professionals who campaigned for Akufo-Addo and NPP candidates. After losing the 2015 primary to Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, he won the ticket in 2020 and the seat that December. In Parliament he was vice-chair of the Environment, Science and Technology Committee and sat on the Public Accounts Committee.
He lost the 2024 NPP primary to Emmanuel Tobbin, who went on to win the seat.
