About E. N. P. Sowah
Ernest Nee Pobee Sowah was Chief Justice of Ghana from 1986 to 1990. He was born on 23 September 1921 into the royal Kpobi We house of La in Accra, and entered Achimota School in 1936.
He sat on the Supreme Court of the Third Republic from 1980. He presided in the case brought by Amoako Tuffuor when the Limann government tried to make the sitting Chief Justice, Fred Apaloo, face vetting again, and ruled that Apaloo had become Chief Justice of the new republic the moment its constitution came into force.
