Empress Gifty

Early life

She was born into the Oppong and Annan families, with roots in the Central and Western Regions, and grew up in Tema, where she had her schooling. Beyond music she trained in fashion, opening her own fashion school in Tema, an entrepreneurial streak that has run through her career.

Active since 2007, she built a strong catalogue of gospel albums including Aseda, Feefeefe, Ebenezer and Eye Woaa, marked by energetic praise and a distinctive vocal style.
