About Kofi Nti
Kofi Nti's 2004 album Rakia, with guests KK Fosu and Ofori Amponsah, made his name in contemporary highlife. In August 2026 he revealed that Ofori Amponsah owns the masters to that album.
Aburi beginnings
Theophilus Kofi Nti was born in Aburi in the Eastern Region in 1980. After secondary school he went into music, working with Okyeame Kojo Kum.
Albums
His first solo album, Wake Up, came out in 2002 under Kriskan Music Production, with engineering at DKB studios, and drew an encouraging response. Rakia followed in 2004 on Big Ben Music Production. His later albums include Akonta, Yeeko Yenim, Tsoo Boi and Ama Adoma. He has said in interviews that he believes the highlife of his generation remains the best.
