Kofi Owusu Peprah

Kofi Owusu Peprah is a Ghanaian gospel singer and worship leader known for Big God and Yesu Nyame Ba. He is the son of the gospel musician and pastor George Owusu Mensah, and Big God Afro won Best Urban Contemporary Gospel Song at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards.

Background

Before music became his career, he worked with the Bureau of National Investigations, now the National Intelligence Bureau. When he was told that officers could not perform music in public, he chose to resign. He has also sung backing vocals for Joe Mettle.

Career

His debut song, Yesu Nyame Ba, came out in 2018. Big God (2020) was put together in about ten minutes with friends at one of Sonnie Badu's programmes, and it became his best-known song. He has also recorded a version of his father's classic Matwen Awurade Anim, released as Matwen 20.

His projects include Songs of Revelation I and II (2021), The Father's Gift (2022), Live in Kumasi (2023) and Find Pleasure (2025), with singles such as Amen, Ruach Hakodesh and No Other God. He was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Gospel Song in 2025 and won it in 2026 with Big God Afro, when he was also nominated for Best Gospel Artiste.
