About Kwame Asafu-Adjei
Kwame Asafu-Adjei is an agricultural economist who represented Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2013 to 2021. He was born in Nsuta on 10 October 1950.
Asafu-Adjei earned an MSc in agricultural economics at Tennessee State University in 1980. He spent his career in agricultural planning at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, becoming deputy director of policy, planning, monitoring and evaluation and head of the livestock planning committee, and later ran Asafaco Consult. In Parliament he was acting chairman of the Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee in 2017. He is married with three children. Adelaide Ntim now represents the constituency.
