Kwasi Amoako-Attah

Kwasi Amoako-Attah is a lawyer and former corporate executive who was Ghana's Minister for Roads and Highways from 2017 to 2021 and represented Atiwa West in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2010 to 2025.

Unilever and Vlisco

Born on 5 August 1951 at Akyem-Awenare, Amoako-Attah attended Abuakwa State College and Tarkwa Senior High School and studied administration at the University of Ghana. He spent the first part of his career in business: regional manager at the old Meat Marketing Board, then brand manager and head of logistics and marketing at Unilever Ghana. He qualified as a lawyer in 2002 and rose to group legal adviser at Vlisco Ghana before leaving in 2010 for politics.

By-election entry

He entered Parliament through a by-election on 31 August 2010, winning Atiwa West with 75 percent of the vote, and held the seat in every election after that.

Roads minister

President Akufo-Addo made him Minister for Roads and Highways in 2017. At his vetting he said he would focus on feeder roads in farming areas to help get food to market. He was one of the most senior members of the NPP caucus by the time he left Parliament in January 2025. Laurette Korkor Asante succeeded him.
