Kwasi Annoh Ankamah

Kwasi Annoh Ankamah was a lawyer who represented Atiwa in the Eastern Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2009 until his death in July 2010. He was born at Abomosu on 1 June 1957.

He studied law and political science at the University of Ghana, qualified at the Ghana School of Law in 1986 and took a postgraduate diploma in housing law at the University of London. He was a special assistant to President Kufuor before winning Atiwa in 2008 with 76.4 percent of the vote, and sat on the Subsidiary Legislation, Judiciary and Local Government committees. In June 2010 he fell ill while on an official delegation to the United Kingdom and died in a London hospital on 1 July. Kwesi Amoako-Attah of the NPP won the by-election that followed. He was a Catholic, married with three children.
