Paskal A. B. Rois

Paskal Rois started an oil services company a month after taking a job on an offshore drilling rig. He now heads the ROIS Group and has been Indonesia's honorary consul in Ghana since 2021.

Background

Paskal Augustine Bronson Rois was born in Ho on 29 August 1978. His mother, Josephine Akosua Kassah, is a retired teacher from Dzodze-Penyi, and his father, Ben Cudjoe Buoh, from Akrofu Xeviwofe, once worked for SSNIT. After basic school in Penyi and Ho he went to Kpando Senior High School, then earned an HND in purchasing and supply at Accra Technical University and a BSc in procurement at GIMPA.

Business and diplomacy

In 2012 he joined Seadrill as an offshore materials administrator and within a month had registered Rig Oil International Services (ROIS), an upstream oil and gas service firm. Elolo Oil and Gas and Jokas Oil Fields Services followed in 2013, and the group has since moved into mining, energy, aviation, media, farming, health and hospitality. President Joko Widodo appointed him Indonesia's honorary consul in April 2021, and he was sworn in on 26 May 2021.

Togbe Afrika

Around 1999 and 2000 he began recording as Togbe Afrika and made four albums. Songs such as "Danye Sidzima", "Menya be Awoenam" and "Kpedentor" were popular in Ghana, Togo and Benin in the early 2000s.

Family

He is married to Gifty Etsa Rois, a ROIS shareholder, and they have three children.
