Salamu Amadu

Alhaji Salamu Amadu is a Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist and the founder, chief executive and board chairman of Afro-Arab Group, a conglomerate with interests in import and export, real estate and construction, travel and tourism, microfinance, sports and electric vehicles. He was born on 3 May 1987.

Building Afro-Arab

Amadu founded Afro-Arab Group in 2007, at the age of 20. From trading roots the business expanded into finance, property development and general trade, and the Daily Graphic has described his approach as an enterprise model that can inspire economic transformation.

Community work

He is closely associated with Ghana's Zongo communities. He dedicated his Forty Under 40 Africa award to the youth of Nima and Maamobi, and in 2025 announced interest-free loans for 50 young entrepreneurs. His social work has earned him ambassadorial roles including One Young World Ambassador, Africa Assembly for Peace Ambassador, Zarbarma Youth Ambassador and Zongo Youth Ambassador for Peace and Development.

Recognition

CEO Times Magazine featured him among its Top 50 African CEOs in 2024, and he was named among Ghana's Top 50 Young CEOs by Avance Media and YCEO Africa.
