Samuel Van Segbefia

Samuel Van-Segbefia is a Ghanaian food entrepreneur and the co-founder and chief executive of Dishrack, a culinary innovation and meal kit company that delivers fresh ingredients for home cooking. He is also the founder of Western Premium and the operator behind most of the Pinocchio gelato storefronts in Ghana, a business since rebranded as Geppetto.

Education

Van-Segbefia holds a first degree in food science and nutrition from a Ghanaian university and a Master of Business Administration in international business from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

Food businesses

Dishrack packages recipes and pre-portioned fresh ingredients so customers can cook restaurant-style meals at home, applying his training in food science to convenience food. Through Western Premium he built a retail presence for dessert brands, running the Pinocchio gelato outlets that became a familiar treat in Accra. He has discussed the decision to reinvent that business as Geppetto, and the bold moves behind it, on The Peswa podcast.
