Stephen Michael Essuah Kofi Ackah is a physical education teacher who represented Suaman, in today's Western North Region, for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for four terms, from 2005 to 2021. He was born on 22 September 1950 and comes from Suaman-Dadieso.
He trained at Wesley College, Kumasi, and the Specialist Training College in Winneba, earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Education, Winneba, and taught at Ejisuman Senior High School before becoming an assistant director with the Ghana Education Service. He won Suaman four times; in 2016 his margin was just 12 votes. Joseph Betino followed him for the NDC in 2021. He is a Methodist, married with three children. Frederick Addy of the NPP holds Suaman today.
