Theodore Kwami Adzoe

Theodore Kwami Adzoe is a former Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana, appointed in 2000 after twenty-seven years in private practice. He comes from Taviefe in the Volta Region.

He went to the E.P. primary and middle schools at Taviefe, Peki Secondary School and Mfantsipim School, where he took his A levels in 1967. He read law at the University of Ghana, qualified at the Ghana School of Law and was called to the bar in 1973.

President Rawlings appointed him to the Supreme Court in July 2000 and swore him in on 28 November 2000. He sat on the case in which Tsatsu Tsikata challenged the constitutionality of the fast-track courts set up to try him. In 2006 his wife, Joana Abla Adzoe, sued the Chief Justice and the Attorney-General, arguing that the Judicial Council had acted unconstitutionally in removing him from the bench on medical grounds.
