Victoria Bright

Victoria Bright is a lawyer qualified in England and Ghana, an insolvency practitioner and a former Minister of State at the Presidency. She was born on 16 March 1965.

She trained as a solicitor with Taylor Wessing in the City of London in 1989, practised corporate law at Pinsent Masons in Leeds, and in 1999 became the first black female partner at DLA Piper in London. She later co-founded Addison Bright Sloane. Under President Kufuor she was legal adviser to the president and a Minister of State at the Presidency, working on Ghana's first sovereign bond, the Millennium Challenge Account, the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel project and the privatisation of Ghana Telecom and Westel.

She is a founding council member of the body now known as the Chartered Institute of Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners, which helped draft Ghana's Companies Act 2019 and insolvency law of 2020. She sits on the boards of Ashesi University and MTN Mobile Money, holds an executive MBA from Oxford's Said Business School, and founded the Bright Minds Foundation for vulnerable children.
