Yussif Jajah Issaka

Yussif Issaka Jajah is a Ghanaian finance professional, politician and Deputy Minister born on 21 October 1979 who serves as the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso North constituency in the Greater Accra Region and as Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts in the government of President John Mahama. A member of the National Democratic Congress representing the constituency for a third term since his first election in 2020, he brings a BSc in Finance from the University of Professional Studies and three postgraduate degrees from the University of Dundee and GIMPA to parliamentary service in one of the Greater Accra Region's established constituencies.

Education

Jajah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Professional Studies in Accra, Ghana's dedicated professional studies university whose Finance programme trains students in accounting, financial analysis and investment management. He subsequently pursued postgraduate education across two institutions, completing three Master's degrees: from the University of Dundee in Scotland and from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. The University of Dundee, one of Scotland's established research universities, and GIMPA, Ghana's leading public sector management and governance institution, represent a transatlantic academic formation that combines Scottish university postgraduate education with Ghana-focused governance and management training at the master's level. Parliamentary career and ministerial appointment

He has served as Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North since January 2021 and was re-elected in 2024 for a third term. During his parliamentary tenure, he has served on the Finance Committee and the Roads and Transport Committee, and has maintained active engagement with the Energy, Defence and Interior Committees as well. His Finance Committee service draws directly on his BSc Finance and postgraduate management education. President Mahama appointed him Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts in 2025, a portfolio whose mandate to develop Ghana's tourism industry, protect cultural heritage and support the creative economy gives him executive responsibility for sectors with growing economic significance, particularly in Greater Accra where arts, culture and creative industries are increasingly central to the urban economy.
