Alex Blankson

Alex Blankson is a Ghanaian healthcare businessman and New Patriotic Party (NPP) politician who represented Adansi-Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region during the Eighth Parliament, from 2021 to 2025. He was born on 26 December 1980 and is a native of Adansi Akrofuom and a grandson of Nana Okai Ababio.

Businessman first

An old boy of Adisadel College, Blankson built his career outside politics as chief executive of Day by Day Healthcare Limited. That private-sector background was part of his pitch when he entered the 2020 race, which he won comfortably against the NDC's Joseph Azumah.

In office

Soon after taking his seat he was sworn onto the seven-member board of Ghana Heavy Equipment Limited. In the House he worked on the Youth, Sports and Culture Committee and the Special Budget Committee. At home, he backed the completion of the Grumesa community centre with roofing sheets and supported a tree-planting drive that put more than 9,000 seedlings into the ground in the Adansi Akrofuom area in 2021.

Azumah turned the tables in the 2024 election, winning Adansi-Akrofuom for the NDC.
