Adagbila studied psychology and political science at the University of Ghana and took a postgraduate diploma in human resource development at the University of Manchester in 1992. He was a principal trainer at the Volta River Authority, executive director of the National Service Scheme from 2002 to 2005 and Upper East Regional Minister from 2005 to 2007. He is a Catholic, married with three children. Mark Kurt Nawaane of the NDC holds Nabdam today.
