About George Kwabena Obeng Takyi
George Kwabena Obeng Takyi is a chartered accountant and lecturer who represented Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from 2021 to 2025. He was born at Mpatuam on 29 March 1965.
He holds an MBA and lectured at the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba. He beat the sitting MP Joseph Albert Quarm in the NPP primary and won Manso Nkwanta in 2020 with 76.1 percent of the vote. In Parliament he sat on the Government Assurance and Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs committees. Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo of the NPP holds the seat today.
