Kofi Byble

Kofi Byble, born Evans Ofori Amoani on 31 July 1992, is a songwriter and recording artiste from the Akuapem hills, based in Accra. He works across Afro dancehall, hiplife, Afrobeats and hip hop, mixing Twi and English.

Beginnings

He got into music in his second year of junior high school and started his career in 2006. He met the DJ and presenter Doctor Duncan, host of the Kasahare Level rap battle on Adom FM, the show that also launched Sarkodie and Yaa Pono. He says he never lost a battle there. His first studio record, Sugar, was recorded at a friend's studio in Accra and its video got national airplay.

Baby Mama

In May 2018 he signed with Gheneral Empire Records, owned by Mark Kwame Adjei (Gheneral Poka), on Spintex Road. The label released Baby Mama, produced by Beat Boss Tims, on 11 June 2018, and it became his signature song. He has since been managed by Cooppon Entertainment.
