About Kwame Aporfo Twumasi
Kwame Amporfo Twumasi is a teacher who represented Nkoranza South, in today's Bono East Region, for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for two terms, from 2005 to 2013, and served as Deputy Minister of Energy. He was born on 10 December 1954 and comes from Nkwabeng.
He graduated in geography and economics from the University of Ghana in 1980 and took a postgraduate diploma in education at Cape Coast. He taught in Sokoto State, Nigeria, from 1981 to 1987, then at Atebubu Secondary School and Nkoranza Secondary Technical School. He won Nkoranza South in 2004 and held it in 2008 against Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum of the NDC, who took the seat in 2012. He is a Catholic, married with five children. Agyekum still holds Nkoranza South and is now Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment.
